Internal combustion
The passenger compartment remained stable during the frontal impact and the footwell remained intact. The dummy readings indicated good protection to the head and chest. There were hazardous structures in the fascia that posed a risk to both the driver and passenger knees.

The Child Restraint System (CRS) initially recommended by Toyota failed to protect the 3y old dummy during the frontal impact. The dummy head contacted the back of the driver seat. In the mean time Toyota has performed several tests with another CRS in co-operation with the CRS manufacturer which has resulted in the recommendation to use the Child Seat "Römer Duo". Toyota has informed Latin NCAP about the good results. Latin NCAP has not tested this Car - CRS combination.
