Blind Spot Detection

The angle allowed by the rear view mirrors is limited, generating what is known as a “blind spot”. The Blind Spot Detection (BSD) system alerts the driver if there is a vehicle at that angle where the mirrors do not allow seeing the overtaking or overtaken vehicle. The BSD acts mainly on overtaking scenarios and lane changes as well as turns. The BSD benefits vulnerable road users like motorcyclists, cyclists, and eventually pedestrians.
